Part One - Three People Doing Three Different Things

A construction worker welds a pipe for the new heating and cooling system for the SFA campus. The first phase of the construction is occurring outside Steen Library.

Spring is the most colorful time of year on the SFA campus. Terry McDaniel helps maintain the flowers in front of the student center.

In addition to the piping replacement, parking garage construction and redesigning of the campus entrance, the school is also remodeling the chemistry building, which has not been updated for decades.

Part Two - Location Photo Story

This photo was taken shooting downward. The water was almost knee-deep.

This photo was taken about 18 inches from the ground. I set the camera on the ledge of the fountain and took the picture.

This is the photo of me, also taken from a downward angle. The sun was bright, so it was difficult to keep my eyes open for very long.

This should give an idea as to where in the fountain I was standing. Steen Library was to my right.

This was another photo taken about 18 inches from the ground. It is the engraving of the statue's artist. I had never noticed this before I stepped in the fountain.

This was the view I had of Surfin' Steve when I looked up.

This was the view when I pivoted slightly to the left. The education building is behind his boot.

Here is a full shot of my location, the Surfin' Steve statue. I was standing to right of the statue in the water.

Hendrix Wedding--A Photo Story

Cristina and Fred put wives' tales aside to see each other before the wedding. She tried to pin on Fred's boutonniere, but the photographer ultimately had to take over the duty.

Cristina wanted her dog May to be in the wedding photos. Fred's feelings for Cristina are apparent, as he cannot even take his eyes off his bride when the dog is around.

After taking the family photos at the altar, Cristina and Fred wait by the entry way for family members to be seated before going to freshen up before the actual ceremony.

The pastor spoke with Cristina and Fred outside the church about the specifics of the ceremony, such as what kind of vows they preferred and the order of the ceremony.

Cristina poses for a bridal portrait as Fred watches from a short distance only minutes before the wedding.

At 2 p.m., the ceremony began as Xavier Rocha walks his daughter, Cristina, down the aisle.

Cristina and Fred repeat their vows after the pastor. Cristina became emotional during the ceremony and had to wipe her tears a few times.

As they exchange wedding bands, the pastor blesses the rings, the symbol of eternal commitment.

The pastor announces that Cristina and Fred may now make their first kiss as Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hendrix.

After the ceremony, Renee Hendrix, Fred's mother, hugs her new daughter-in-law and welcomes her to the family.

After making their way back to the reception house on the Millard's Crossing property, Mr. and Mrs. Hendrix cut their wedding and groom's cake.

Fred feeds his new wife the first bite of the wedding cake.

After cutting the cake, it is time for the toast. To make up for the height difference, Fred bends his knees so he is at eye level with Cristina.

The marriage is finally official with the pastor's signature on the marriage license.
